U-KISS has stood on stage at Evento 40, in Colombia.

On May 12, the U-KISS members came on stage in front of some 50,000 individuals to represent Asia in South America’s largest music festival. The group, which was the first Asian musician to perform at Evento 40, performed a string of its hits including Doradora, Neverland and more to a screaming crowd.

In particular, some 3000 members of U-KISS’ fan club could be seen enthusiastically cheering on their favorite group while chanting in Korean, “We love you U-Kiss” and other supportive messages.

Pada 12 Mei, anggota U-KISS datang ke panggung di depan 50,000 orang dimana mereka mewakili Asia di pergelaran musik terbsesar Amerika Selatan. 5-Year Old U-KISS ” A Japanese fortune teller foresees them as the next best hallyu stars… we’re happy.”
U-KISS has returned as “Sexy U-KISS.” It’s been 8 months since their comeback and they’re back to show their “sexy and charismatic” concept. They’ve showed great success with the concept in Japan, and they’re back, full of confidence to show in Korea.

What is the fantasy concept?

Following their sexy concept, they bring the song “DORADORA,” which comprises of body waves that reveal the sexy side of men. With this concept as a background, they mix individual member concepts in to create a wonderful combination. Soohyun is Wild & Mild, Kiseop is Fantasy, Eli is Romantic, AJ is Sexy Funky, Hoon is Sweetie, Kevin is Metrosexual, and Dongho is Joyful. How do their individual concepts come together to form a fantasy?  ”It’s almost an emotional feeling. When we take photos or fall deep into the music on stage, we show our charismatic manly image” stated Kiseop.

Japanese fortune teller sees U-KISS as the greatest hallyu star.

Not long ago, a Japanese fortune teller believed to see idol group U-KISS become Japan’s best hallyu star. U-KISS stated “It felt really nice” (Hoon), “I felt the need to work harder” (Kevin) and shared happy emotions.

Before their national comeback, U-KISS toured 6 regions in Japan, with 11 concerts. They greeted over 30,000 Japanese fans. Happy with their experience, Kevin said “It was fun to have our first nationwide tour.  We had 11 concerts in 6 regions and met many fans along the way. We were surprised to receive as much love as we did. We released our first debut single in December, and within 4 months, we were able to have our nationwide tour. This was such an honour! Our skill improved as we toured. Our singing, dancing, and overall stage performance skills all improved. I think we’ve become closer to the stage.”

AJ also mentioned “It was tough because we had to sing 17 songs in one concert and that required a lot of effort, physically. We also needed to worry about our fans and what they would like. U-KISS is a 5-year old  group but I think we’re now starting to become closer with the stage. “

5-Year Old U-KISS, Greed for Number 1

We carefully asked U-KISS regarding their lack of a Korean tour and the differences in their successes in Japan and Korea. To this, Hoon stated “If we did well in our country, Korea, than wouldn’t other foreign fans and Japanese fans love us more? With that idea, we want to show our best in Korea.”

If last year was girl group heaven, than this year is boy group year. Regarding the number of boy groups debuting, Dongho commented “we don’t like picking out a rival group.”

“There are a lot of new idols that are good on stage. Singing, dancing, and also acting. We agree that some idols are more skilled than we are in some areas. Rather than us being sunbaes, we like to see everyone on the same path of dreaming towards becoming a star. Because we believe that we can succeed if we try our hardest, we usually tend to not get jealous or rivaled against other groups.” (Dongho)

Working hard may be a necessary characteristic however, they have greed as well. “Of course we want to win number 1. Online and off, we want to win number 1, and we also want people to recognise and enjoy our performances. We wish people would recognise our returns and new songs and go to listen and enjoy them.” (Soohyun).

[NEWS] 120506 U-KISS’s AJ chooses athlete Son Yeon Jae as his ideal type

U-KISS member, AJ has revealed his ideal woman!

Through a recent interview with Sports Chosun, AJ revealed, “My ideal woman is athlete, Son Yeon Jae. I’m so proud that she is so dedicated to her work and spreading awareness of Korea, despite her young age. Honestly, I’m also charmed by her innocence.”

He continued, “I learned so much while holding our solo concert in Japan. Of course, we want to hold a solo concert in Korea as well. If we do get to hold one, I’d like to invite Son Yeon Jae.”

Meanwhile, U-KISS is busy promoting their new track, “DORADORA” which was co-produced by Brian Kim (Zigzag Note) and Kim Hyung Seok. The song has generated quite the buzz lately and grabbed first place on Hanteo Chart in the album sales category.

For those who don’t know, Son Yeon Jae is a young rhythmic gymnast born in 1994. She is a 2010 Asian Games bronze medalist, as well as a member of the national gymnastic team.

Is loser Dongho the best?

U-KISS’s Dongho is currently starring in Channel A’s (SuperAction) 4-part drama ‘Holyland’, directed by Park KiHyung, as a cowardly character.
Enews met up with Dongho earlier and he said, “After the first broadcast of ‘Holyland’, all my friends praised me for my portrayal of a loser. But I’m an idol group member…”. He continued with a sorry heart, “After watching the drama, I really like how well the director put the scenes of the other actors together. It only made me feel bad for the other actors because of my lacking acting skills”.

He also added, “The role I play in the first two episodes will be completely changed in the last two instalments of the drama. I’m extremely happy that my fellow colleagues have praised me about my acting saying that ‘It came out well!’ for that part as well”. Holyland had its first broadcast on April 28, and garnered a viewer rating of 1.8%. It also topped the search ranks of various internet portal sites.

In addition, Dongho is currently in the midst of promotional activities with U-KISS’s new mini-album ‘DORADORA.

[NEWS] U-KISS DongHo Kicks “Holyland” off With a 1.8% Viewership Rating

Idol group U-KISS’s Dongho declared himself as a “rating killer”.

Dongho set the ratings up to 1.8% for the first episode of the super action cable channel drama “Holyland” on April 28th. While broadcasting, the search term “Holyland” ranked as the most searched topic on major portal sites in Korea.[[MORE]]

“Holyland” is drama of the stylish fighting and action-packed genre. It is based on a Japanese manga that was published for 8 years, beginning from 2000. Since then, it has sold over 360,000 copies. Judo, taekwondo, wrestling, and other various martial arts are portrayed in this drama.

Dongho received positive feedback for his important fighting scenes that he naturally carried out. He was praised for the role he portrayed- a wimpy kid who has low self esteem, but eventually goes out at night to find his true self as the tough guy “Kang Yoo.”

After the first broadcast, Dongho tweeted, “Did you enjoy watching ‘Holyland’? I guess the flaws that I could find about my acting means that I have improved now?”

The second episode of “Holyland” to broadcast next month on the 5th will feature another U-KISS member- Hoon. Viewers can anticipate their head-to-head fighting scene.

Recently, U-Kiss’s Dong Ho has put himself on a list of celebrities with a well-mannered hand.

On April 28, the star tweeted a picture with Dynamic Duo and commented, “Yo, yo. Double D and Dongble B.” The picture was first posted by Dynamic Duo’s Gaeko with the comment, “Hey, Dong Ho. Here’s the picture,” and Dongho retweeted it.

In the picture, Dongho is standing between Dynamic Duo’s Choiza and Gaeko. All three of them are making the V sign and showing off close relationship with a bright smile on their face.
